A Study of Preventive Health Behavior of Senior Highschool Girls

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the preventive health behavior of senior highschool g.ris against their health belief model and individual´s behavior towards health maintenance.
The subjects for this study were 166 girls in a senior highschool, located in Jinju.
Data were collected from Aprit 24, 1987 to April 25, 1987 by the questionnaire method,and were analysed by the use of means, standard deviations, correlationcoefficient, analyais of variance, and multiple regr ssion analysis.
The results were as follows:
1. Of four independent variables associated with health belief model, susceptibility and barrier were clos-ly related to preventive health behavior.
1)Barrier was the most important and significant one for explaining the dependent variables (15.3%) of health belief model.
2) Then considering the barrier together with the susceptibility, the variance of compliance increas-d to 19.7% explaning more about the preventive health behavior. 2. Barrier and susceptibility were correlated to preventive health behavior.
